Authentic East Africa
13 days | 12 nights | Kenya & Tanzania
Departs daily | Customisable
From the pulse of Nairobi to the endless horizons of the Serengeti, this is East Africa at its most evocative. Journey through Kenya’s legendary Masai Mara and into Tanzania’s northern wilderness, where acacia-dotted plains, volcanic landscapes and abundant wildlife create a constantly shifting theatre of nature. Along the way, expert-guided game drives bring you close to the Big Five, while comfortable lodges and intimate tented camps offer a refined retreat at the close of each extraordinary day.
Nairobi — Where the City Meets the Wild
Your journey begins in Nairobi, a city where sophisticated urban life exists remarkably close to untamed wilderness. A safari in Nairobi National Park offers an unusual first encounter with Kenya, as rhinos and other wildlife move across open savannah with the city skyline rising beyond them. It is a striking introduction to a country where wilderness is never far from the everyday.
From here, the journey turns towards the great landscapes of southern Kenya and the Masai Mara.
The Masai Mara — Kenya’s Living Wilderness
The Masai Mara unfolds in broad sweeps of golden grassland, acacia woodland and riverine country. Days are shaped around the rhythms of the bush, with expert-guided 4WD safaris offering opportunities to encounter lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhinoceros in their natural environment. The Mara River adds another dimension, particularly during the Great Migration, when vast herds cross the landscape in search of fresh grazing and water.
Beyond wildlife, the Mara offers an opportunity to encounter Maasai culture and gain a deeper appreciation of the people whose traditions and connection to this landscape remain an important part of East Africa’s story. Evenings bring a gentler rhythm: dinner, conversation and the quiet atmosphere of your tented camp beneath the African sky.
Northern Tanzania — Ngorongoro & the Serengeti
Cross into Tanzania and the landscape takes on a new scale. The Northern Circuit encompasses some of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife environments, including the Ngorongoro Crater and the vast plains of Serengeti National Park.
Within the Ngorongoro ecosystem, the crater creates a remarkable natural amphitheatre where wildlife gathers in abundance. Further west, the Serengeti stretches towards the horizon, its seemingly limitless plains providing an extraordinary setting for game viewing throughout the year. Here, each safari unfolds differently — perhaps a pride of lions resting in the shade, elephants moving slowly across the grasslands or a solitary predator appearing in the distance.
Accommodation alternates between elegant lodge-style properties and carefully selected tented camps, allowing you to remain immersed in the wilderness without sacrificing comfort. Across the journey, 12 breakfasts, 9 lunches and 9 dinners are included, with accommodation comprising three nights in a 4-star hotel, three nights in tented camps and six nights in lodge-style accommodation.
East Africa has a way of changing the pace of travel. Mornings begin with anticipation, afternoons stretch beneath enormous skies and evenings invite reflection on everything witnessed that day. From Nairobi’s unexpected wildlife encounters to the Mara’s iconic plains and the immense silence of the Serengeti, this is a journey measured not simply in destinations, but in moments of connection with a landscape that feels both ancient and alive.
