Highlights of your journey

Explore Lhasa's three UNESCO World Heritage Sites — the Potala Palace, Norbulingka and Jokhang Temple — then walk the Barkhor kora alongside pilgrims in the city's Old Quarter. Witness living monastic traditions, from the animated debate sessions of Sera's monks to the quiet devotion of remote meditation caves. Cross high Himalayan passes to the sacred turquoise waters of Yamdrok Tso, and stand before the towering Maitreya Buddha at Tashilhunpo Monastery. From Gyawula Pass, take in sweeping views of five of the world's 8,000-metre peaks before the North Face of Everest itself comes fully into view. You'll spend a night near Everest Base Camp, watching the summit turn to gold at sunset and silver at dawn, with a visit to Rongbuk Monastery — the highest monastery in the world — close by.

A taste of the itinerary

Your adventure begins in Lhasa, the City of Sunlight, where you'll gently acclimatise to the altitude while exploring its palaces, temples and nunneries. From there, you'll travel overland past glaciers and turquoise lakes to the great monastic complexes of central Tibet, before venturing deep into the Himalaya to Everest Base Camp itself. The journey concludes with a scenic return to Lhasa by train, a farewell dinner, and onward travel to Kathmandu.

Every step is guided by expert local leaders, with a pace designed for gradual acclimatisation — so you can take in the majesty of the mountains without the altitude taking the joy out of the journey.

This is travel that stays with you: sacred, spectacular, and genuinely once in a lifetime. As your travel agents, we'll take care of every detail so all you need to do is arrive ready for the adventure of a lifetime.
